What is a 'Love Bucket'?

The Love Bucket is the greatest tool in your toolbox. Your solar plexus is located between your navel and the bottom of your rib cage. Your Love Bucket is located around your solar plexus . . . it is your sun, your spark. And that spark is what makes your shine. The Love Bucket ignites that spark.

Close your eyes and take two deep breaths. Go deep into your heart and solar plexus and envision a sun around your solar plexus. Feel the heat of that sun. It’s your sun. Feel its radiance. Now visualize yourself as a child. Are you playing in the sand? Take a deep breath and enjoy your vision of yourself as a playful child. Now give yourself a big hug around your solar plexus. If tears start to flow, that’s fine. Any emotions are welcome.

Open your eyes as you recollect the simple pleasure of being a child.

An important part of filling your Love Bucket is allowing yourself to receive before you give. You know how a flight attendant demonstrates the way oxygen masks work on an airplane? She or he tells you that the first person you need to give oxygen to is yourself, before you give to anybody else, including your children. It’s the same in everyday life. You can’t give what you don’t have. If your Love Bucket is empty, you can’t love yourself or anyone else for that matter. When Your Love Bucket is depleted, you will feel and look exhausted. You can certainly push yourself for a while, but it will further exhaust your and eventually create disease.

The purpose of the Love Bucket is to find what truly fulfills you.

Chocolate cake might, but the real pleasures in life are unusually the very simple ones, those that satisfy you and ignite your spark to you can shine every moment. The shine that comes from within is real, authentic inner beauty. Your Love Bucket should be filled to its brim. It should be overflowing, and the good news is that it is easy to fill. When the Love Bucket is full, you feel energized, happy, and ready to share your love with the world. You receive in order to share. You never stop the cycle of receiving and giving, giving and receiving. It’s a constant flow. The essence of the Love Bucket concept is:

  • Live, not just exist

  • Shed the weight of waste

  • Let go of the junk in your life

  • Manifest your dreams

  • Expand your heart and really feel alive

  • Become more youthful

  • Shift the focus from your obsession to your passion

  • Allow yourself to be all you can be. The sky is the limit.

To get you started, here’s a list of twenty-five simple resources you can do to fill your Love Bucket:

  1. Look in the mirror and say, “I totally and completely love and accept myself”.

  5. Take five deep breaths. Breathe in love, and breathe out any negative thoughts you might have. Do this in the morning and at night before bed. 

  6. Chose a song for the day, it could be a SEXi song, such as“Sexual Healing”or it could be a happy children’s song like “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” (lyrics in Appendix E). Play or sing that song whenever a negative thought or self-criticism surface. Then just release that thought into the nothingness from which it came and choose the music of life.

  7. Tell yourself throughout the day “It feels good to be alive!” 

  8. Appreciate one thing in your surroundings today.

  9. Take a quiet walk in a peaceful setting.

  10. Imagine it is the day after you have achieved a desired goal.

  11. Move to music, shake your booty!

  12. Do something creative;; paint, draw, photograph, sing, write or play music.

  13. Talk to a flower and marvel at its beauty.

  14. Do some kind of exercise or sport

  15. Call a friend and say “I Love You”

  16. Think of something you have accomplished that makes you proud.

  17. Expect a miracle

  18. Feel the sun caress your face for five minutes.

  19. Learn a new joke and share it with someone.

  20. Light a candle, make a wish, and blow it out.

  21. Make a sandcastle.

  22. Play with a pet or watch a bird fly.

  23. Sit in silence and meditate.

  24. Walk barefoot on the beach.

  25. Smile at a stranger.
